CDC APPROVES VACCINE FOR MINORS 12-15 YEARS OLD
In a widely expected move, the CDC approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in minors aged 12-15, following the FDA’s authorization earlier this week.
Cedars-Sinai will begin scheduling vaccine appointments for this age group tomorrow, Thursday, May 13.
Cedars-Sinai will be sending a message to Cedars-Sinai patients who are 12 years and older. Like everyone else, minors can schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment in one of these three ways:
- Schedule directly with Cedars-Sinai. Log in to My CS-Link™ at https://www.mycslink.org/ . Go to “Visits” on the top menu, click “Schedule an Appointment” and then click “COVID-19 Vaccine Dose 1”.
- Visit the California Department of Public Health’s My Turn website at https://myturn.ca.gov/ and follow instructions. You may choose Cedars-Sinai as the provider.
- Call 1-855-427-5465 and ask to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment.
Anyone under 18 must bring a parent or guardian to the appointment. If this is not possible, they must bring a signed copy of this consent form. Please review the updated FDA fact sheets for healthcare providers and for recipients and caregivers.
